Free travel for DSP customers in Western Australia

Did you know that if you are a Disability Support Pension (DSP) customer living in Western Australia, you are eligible for a Pensioner SmartRider?  A Pensioner SmartRider allows you to travel for free on all Transperth services between 9.00am and 3.30pm Monday to Friday, all day Saturday and Sunday, as well as public holidays.

The free travel entitlements can only be accessed via SmartRider, Transperth’s electronic ticketing system, so you must have a Pensioner SmartRider card to travel for free during these times.

Transperth offers the following public transport services to the Perth metro area:

  • bus services including school bus services
  • train services, and
  • ferry services.

You can apply at your nearest Transperth Info Centre or SmartRider Retail Sales Outlet (RSO’s) by filling in an application form. Or you can call the Transperth InfoLine on 13 6213.

  • TTY users call 08 9428 1999,
  • TIS users call 13 14 50 and ask to have application form sent to you by mail.

A list of Transperth Info Centres and selected SmartRider RSO’s are available on the Contact Us page on the Transperth website. To find out more on SmartRider, you can read the SmartRider Guide or visit www.transperth.wa.gov.au
